 The Water Cycle

What changed about the water cycle that had such a profound effect on human life expectancy?  Before the Noatic flood it is recorded in Genesis that there were those that lived 900 plus years of age.  But after the Flood you see a decline of age where it was less than a hundred years and then about 70.

Well, this set off my curiosity and I looked at a chart of those life spans after the flood. I couldn't find one to my liking because I wasn't just looking for their total life spans. I was looking for the time or the year after the Flood in which they died plus their total life span.

So, I made one.

With this chart you can clearly see that in that last column Shem actually buries most of his sons.  Noting that that would be most undesirable to keep burying your grandchildren and then their grandchildren, one does wonder - how is this possible if the current theory that most Christians believe to day of a canopy of water over the earth keeping out the UV rays was really responsible for longevity.  If the UV rays are responsible for the shortening of life why wasn't Shem's shortened?

Maybe it wasn't the UV rays.

Although it sounds reasonable it ends up just not holding water - pardon the pun. If the UV did if fact come through differently as before why wasn't Shem affected (although Shem's total age is 600 compared to 900 something of that of the antediluvians)- seemingly at all - and the 3 generations subsequent to him?

Hmmmm, but if we look at the chart and notice where the lifespan is cut in half we come to Peleg.  Which is interesting, because the Bible says that ...

Gen 10:25  And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

"For in his days was the earth divided"

Divided - how?

Sidebar!!!: Did you ever notice how God divides?  He divides practically everywhere He shows up and then we have a bunch of people today saying the God unites, and insisting that uniting is symptomatic of God.  But where are the verses? Where are the stories in the Old Testament?

I think something fishy might be going on?  Did you ever notice that fish show up on the 5th day of Creation in Gen 1?  You probably were thinking about soooo many other things that occupy your mind each day when you read the Bible (hah! Who am I kidding - practically no one reads the Bible. They haven't seen it since the last time they went to church but, we'll move on), right?  Well that's true but ... that's another subject - No 5's an interesting number.

But, while it might not seem like it - those two things are related. I think 5 and fishes and uniting people are related.

So, how was the earth divided?  Well we can go back to Gen 1 and let's see how it was divided before.

Gen 1:9  And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Gen 1:10  And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

That's one time the earth was divided before that I guess it was more like a swamp where the water covered here and there but God said for the waters to gather together and they obeyed. The earth likewise appeared.  You're about 70% water did you know that?  And the rest of you is earth. Yet why can't you obey God when He speaks?

Did you ever wonder how those islanders got over there in those Pacific isles where they remained for thousands of years undisturbed?  I have.  Do you know what the Encyclopedias say about them - like those in Hawaii?  They say that they were skilled navigators who settled those Isles and then they imply that they absolutely forgot how to get back.  There was no trade with those folk.  They didn't go back and forth and trade with anyone.

How did they get there?  That's no answer. That answer demands more questions than it answers.

You know how they got there?  Take a look at a map that shows the underground mountains and terrain of the ocean around those islands and you can see how they got there.
